Good greetings to you, one and all. I’m currently in New York, preparing for my gig at the influential Sidewalk Cafe tonight. I’ll be on stage to do a full 45 minute set at 10.30pm. This venue is the epicentre of the anti-folk scene in NY (and I guess, by default, worldwide). It feels pretty good to be asked to play there, and I’ve got a good feeling about it.
The band and I are about to enter in to a busy two month period, where we’re going to be playing all over Scotland and England. This is partly to blow off the cobwebs after my 3 months away, and partly to get it out of our system before we go off and record the next CD.
There’s some really fucking good gigs coming up for us. For example, the wonderful Crazy Arm (Xtra Mile) and Broken Stories have been added to the bill for the show we’re doing with Larry and his Flask at Audio in Glasgow on the 6th of December. The following week, I’m doing three dates with Chris T-T in Newcastle (at a blooming Cinema!), Edinburgh and Glasgow. I’m also doing my first gig in Inverness and Devizes (not on consecutive days thank god!).
Full details of all the gigs are on our gigs page, with this handy poster giving you the jist of it all. Please consider buying advance tickets for the shows wherever possible as this help’s the promoters/us know what to expect!
Finally, here’s a video of a new’ish song called Luath St Stories, recorded at my first NYC gig at Rockwood Music Hall. Enjoy!
